Delivery FAQs

If I win, how can I get my mince pies?

There are three options for delivery:

Collection from the restaurant

  • All mince pies will be ready for collection from 10am on Wednesday 18 December
  • The Mince Pie Project team will coordinate a suitable, specific time with the restaurant for you to pick up your mince pies
  • Cost: FREE

Same-day delivery by CitySprint (arranged by Mince Pie Project)

  • Most mince pies will be delivered between 10am and 6pm on Wed 18 Dec (boxes travelling long distances may be delivered slightly later, TBC)
  • The Mince Pie Project team will be in touch to arrange delivery details and take payment for delivery
  • Cost: £5 within 20 miles of the restaurant + 75p per mile thereafter
  • Note: You can calculate the total mileage using google maps (all restaurant postcodes are on ‘The Chefs’ page)

Alternative delivery (arranged by the winning bidder)

  • All mince pies will be ready for collection from 10am on Wednesday 18 December
  • The Mince Pie Project team will coordinate a suitable, specific time with the restaurant for your delivery person to pick up your mince pies
  • Cost: To be paid by the winning bidder

We strongly recommend you choose delivery option 1 or 2, and if you want to keep delivery costs down – bid local! Remember, mince pies are highly fragile and do not take kindly to overnight courier services!

How do I choose my delivery option?

After the project has ended, a member of The Mince Pie Project team will be in touch directly to ask how you would like to get your mince pies and (where applicable) where you would like them delivered to.

  • Auction winners: we will be in touch via Ebay, by 5pm Friday 13 December
  • Raffle winners: we will be in touch via email, by midday Saturday 14 December

How will you ensure that my mince pies will arrive in a suitable condition?

We are taking every precaution to make sure that the mince pies are packaged and transported safely. Collection from the restaurant is the best way to ensure your pies arrive in perfect condition, otherwise we advise using CitySprint, who will transport your mince pies direct from the restaurant and handle with care.

Can I get a quote from CitySprint for the cost of the delivery of my mince pies?

For more complicated quotes (e.g multiple deliveries), please email mincepieproject@citysprint.co.uk with the word ‘quote’ in the subject field. Please include in the email: the postcode of the restaurant that is making the mince pies (this is on ‘The Chefs’ section of our website) and the postcode of the delivery address. CitySprint will respond to your email as soon as possible.

How do I pay for delivery?

The Mince Pie Project team will be in touch to arrange payment for delivery, which will need to be received in advance of dispatch.

Where can CitySprint deliver to?

CitySprint can deliver to any address in mainland Great Britain.

How can I keep delivery costs down?

We encourage you to support your local restaurants where possible and enter the auction or buy raffle tickets for chefs that are close to your delivery address. Bid local!

Can I get my mince pies delivered on a different day?

No, unfortunately restaurants are really busy at this time of year and in order to make sure that your mince pies are fresh when you receive them, they will need to be delivered to you on Wednesday 18 December.

Can I choose a specific delivery time?

No, unfortunately due to the number and complexity of deliveries, we are unable to accept requests for a specific delivery time. All mince pies will be delivered on Wednesday 18 December, between 10am and 6pm, and we will do our best to provide you with an approximate time at the beginning of the day.

What happens if I’m not in when my mince pies arrive?

We will require clear instructions as to where to leave your mince pies if you are not in when they attempt delivery. We will request this information from you via email, along with a contact telephone number for the day.

For any general queries relating to the delivery of your mince pies, please email info@themincepieproject.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
